Features & Functionality

Discover all Neer Social features and learn how to use them effectively.

How does proximity discovery work?

Neer uses your approximate location, only while the app is open, to show people around you in Nearby Users. Filter by shared interests to discover people you have more in common with.

What are the subscription tiers?

Basic is free and includes the core features. Neer Pro costs $1.99/month or $12.99/year and unlocks every premium feature; see the Neer Pro page for details.

How do I filter nearby users?

Open User Filters to filter Nearby Users by interests, show only people who are Active Now, or hide friends.

What are events in Neer Social?

Events are meetups shown nearby. Create one from the Discover page, invite friends, and chat with everyone attending.

Can I save profiles to view later?

Yes. Tap the bookmark icon on any profile to save it, then find it later in Settings > Saved Profiles.

What are Analytics?

Analytics show how your profile is performing, including profile views, Discovery impressions, connection success rate, peak activity times, and engagement demographics.

What is the Active Now filter?

Active Now shows only people who were active in the app within the last 2 hours.

What is the Hide Friends filter?

Hide Friends removes people you are already friends with from Nearby Users. Turn it on or off in User Filters.

Can I save my filter settings?

Yes. Save up to 3 named presets in User Filters and apply one with a single tap. If you already have 3, delete one before adding another.

Can I customize my notification preferences?

Yes. Go to Settings > Notifications to choose which alerts you receive, or turn notifications off completely.

What features does Neer Pro include?

Neer Pro includes AI Recommendations, Advanced Analytics, Profile Viewers, Incognito Mode, Boost Events, the Neer Pro Badge, and Profile Colors. See the Neer Pro page for details.

What is Profile Viewers?

Profile Viewers is a Neer Pro feature that shows you who viewed your profile. Each view stays on your list for 3 hours.

What is Incognito Mode?

Incognito Mode is a Neer Pro feature that lets you browse profiles privately. When it’s on, your profile views stay private.

How do AI Recommendations work?

Choose the interests you care about, and AI Recommendations show an In Common score for people based on distance, shared interests, and profile quality.

What are Achievements?

Achievements are ranks that reward your activity on Neer Social. Make connections and get profile views to move up through Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond.
